Why do we want to renovate the Main building?
- The building have over years served the village and neighbor villages with 3 shops
- It have served as the Mukhtar office for the village and neighbor villages for many decades
- We do not have a Mukhtar office today. The room to do ablution is a temporary office in the building next door
- The renovation will attract people and give a solid rent income to the village
- Younger generation find the village boring and get disconnected. This will increase interest and give more life to the village. Like in old days
- The building is current not usable due to larger damages. Only necessary renovation is planned and not luxury.
- The government declined funding for the renovation
What are the crucial renovation needs?
Full details on renovation can be read here in turkish. Below list is just an overview.
- The roof is leaking and needs to be repaired. We will avoid a new roof and only repair the leaking – if it becomes a long term solution
- The plaster on outside walls are loose and falling apart. Needs to be renewed and painted
- Windows are broken on bottom floor and needs to be replaced
- During rain, water gets in to the bottom floor. We need to lift the entrance steps
- Inside walls have some minor damages to be repaired and painted
- The guest house have a toilet that should be repaired. This will remove the need to create a new toilet. See image.
- When the government building next door was built, they took the water supply of the main building and directed there. We need to reconnect the water supply.
- The floor is damaged and a new layer of cement is required
- The balcony is leaking water to main floor. Leaks to be renovated.
- Electric cables are damaged in certain rooms
- Door lock missing and should be replaced and painted.
What additional renovations will be made?
If the budget allows and we can collect the necessary money following renovations will be included in the project.
Who will finance the projects?
These projects are planned to be financed by fundraising from all of us. We will start by reaching out to business owners and then everyone else.
This includes people from families like Turan, Durmaz, Tas, Yilan, Secilmis, etc.
Who will manage the money?
Different individuals from various regions (Switzerland, Denmark, Austria, etc.) will be responsible for collecting the money. The money will then either be wire transferred to Turkish bank account or sent to Turkey as cash.
In the end all money will be located in the bank account. The Mukhtar together with the association board decide on wire transfers to be made to entrepreneurs.
The payment plan will be based on “Deliver first and get paid later” principle to secure against fraud.
What does the project cost?
We are defining the requirements at the moment and collecting prices from various entrepreneurs. We hope to finalize this stage as soon as possible.
